My website is slated to go live a week from today. My baby. My blood, sweat, and tears. Is it possible to be equal parts excited AND terrified, at the same time? ‘Cause that is precisely how I feel.
What if it’s a complete flop? What if nobody visits? What if it sits there, out in “online space” somewhere, hiding behind a sizeable planet, and not even one single martian or alien comes in for landing?
Or… what if… it actually garners a tremendous flow of traffic? Like, New York City on New Year’s Eve? What if people like what they see so much, that they tell more people, who then tell more people, and there are so many people clicking the link at the same time, that my site crashes?
The point is, we can go through life constantly re-evaluating every move we make, every step we take. We can second-guess every choice, every decision, every thought. But where does that lead? Highway to anxiety, I reckon. No red lights, just an on-ramp, with speed picking up as you go.
What’s that movie from a few years back? You know, the one with the famous line, “If you build it, they will come.”
That’s kinda how I view this. Yes, there are other sites out there that offer some of the same services and products I do. Well good for them, I hope they are truly prosperous with their passion! But that doesn’t mean there’s no room for little ol’ me, right?
My background, and my experiences, are part of what make me, me. And no one else can fulfill taskings the same way I do. No one else can share their heart and soul in the same manner I do. No one else has that same, special “Happy Carly” aura that I do. These are what make me, me.
So yes, I must believe, deep down, that no matter how crowded this world gets, or the online space, too, that there will still be room for me, and for what I bring to the table.
As I’ve said before, the one thing I know for sure, is that God put me on this Earth to encourage those around me. So why waste precious time fretting with folly? I need to just let go, and let God. And no, I didn’t come up with that on my own. I think I may have seen it on a bumper sticker or something…
Thank you in advance for listening, and for starting on this great journey with me!
Live Happy,
Carly 😊
